There are special drill bits for tiles. Additionally you should drill slowly and without much pressure. Any high speed or too strong pressure might cause the tile to break. You have to be patient.

Find a drill that accepts a masonry bit. Make sure the hammer function is not on. Drill slowly and apply minimal pressure to avoid breaking the tile.

You need to use a drill bit made for drilling glass or tile. It usually is diamond or tungsten carbide tipped. Drill slowly and cool with water while drilling.

There are particular drilling bits for ceramic tiles. Get one of those, other bits could damage the tile and cause it to break or splinter. Also important: Drill slowely and be patient. High speed or too much pressure could also cause the tiles to break.

From what i know, you would need a low RPM drill and a friend/helper to keep pouring cold water on the tile while you're drilling. ...or just use chizzle.
