Percentage can be seen as a part on the scale of 100. So, 10% of 80 is 10/100*80, i.e., 8. Similarly, 20 is 25% of 80 since 20/80*100 = 25.

To calculate a percentage, you need two values. The number that represents the part and the number that represents the whole. Take the part number and divide by the whole (total) number and multiply by 100. This is your percentage.

lets say the problem is what percent of 2406 is 15. percent are is/of problems you put 15/x multiply 100/2406 15 is .62% of 2406. you put 100 over 2406 because you're looking for something out of 100%
