Additions can be added in any room that is handy. All that's required is a flat surface like a desk. Adequate lighting and a calculator would produce the best results. These and paper and pencil or pen to record the answers would also be desirable. Of course the same things would apply for subtractions as well.

First sketch the design you have in mind. Develop a materials list to build the addition. Build the addition, or hire someone else to do it. Since there are no load bearing walls involved you have some freedom to experiment. Make sure you consider what you want to use the addition for and use common sense.

First i will decide the addition on basis of our requirement. Then i will decide the capacity on basis of space available, cost, brand. If the space is creating some problem then i will do the replacement. If cost is less then i will go with the installments scheme.

Put foundation for proposed extension, raise the wall over it and take it upto existing ceiling height. For extending the roof slab, break concrete along the edge until its rods are exposed. Make shuttering and Weld the M. S rods and concrete the slab so as to rest on the newly constructed walls. You may use leakproofing materials along the joint.

You will need a foundation from concrete or block, then wood framing tied into the existing walls. Make a plan and get a city permit.
