How do you get your poems published?

I have written several poems that I think are good enough to be published.

Submit them to as many literary magazines, online or in print, as you can. Submit them even if it is for little or no pay, just to gain some credibility in the field. Self publish a chapbook through CreateSpace or LaLa.

You would need to find a publisher or agent that specializes in poetry and submit to them. If you do not have enough for a book, then try poetry-related magazines.

One alternative many do not consider is selling direct to the public using an on-demand publisher such as kunacki to produce your volume one at a time.

There are always listings for poems to be submitted for publishing in all types of magazines and many online websites. Many hold contests and the winners get to be published.

Select a publication you would like to submit to, and then type up a query letter explaining your interest in publishing your poems; send in your submission.

Google "literary journal" to find markets. Some pay, some don't. Follow the submission guidelines on the journals' websites. Once you've got some publication credits in magazines, go to bookstores and look at which publishers do poetry anthologies, and query them according to their guidelines.
