How do you get the father to sign over his rights in North Carolina?

Discuss the benefits of doing so. If he would no longer have to pay child support, bring that up as a positive.

In order for a parent to sign over parental rights, there has to be a demonstration that this will benefit the child. Depending on the relationship between the father and child, the father may not want to terminate parental rights.
