How do you get rid of voles?

Although trapping voles is the best way to get rid of them, it is dangerous.It would be better to contact a wildlife officer or game warden to assist you in this manner. If none is available in your area, see if an animal shelter can trap and discard for you.

Voles hang around only in areas that offer the food that they like. Cats are a good deterrent. Coffee grounds or castor oil sprinkled around vole holes will help. You can get free coffee grounds from your local coffee shop.

Voles as being part of the food chain would sometimes become pests in our backyards. They could eat anything especially your cultured plants. Moreover is the bad smell of their poo. To avoid this animals without harming them, you could spray castor oil in your garden as this leaves a bad taste and smell for voles.

If possible, use poisoned food. I would recommend Rodex, I've used it successfully against other rodents, but there are more good products available on the market. If you have pets or children who might eat the poison accidentally, use lots of mouse traps.
