Fluid in an individual's ear can come from many places. The most common way that water gets into an ear canal is from being in water, either swimming, bathing, or showering. Fluid in the ear can be annoying and uncomfortable.

If you mean about the ear canal, the fluids can get there when you take a shower, or it might be caused by an inflammation. The internal ear can also be inflamed, or in some cases the fluids can get there from the nose, throat, or pathological communication with the brain cavity.
