Depending on how bad the stain is, you might first try a baking soda and vinegar solution - just enough of both to cover it and let it fizz slightly - and leave it to soak on the rust overnight. Once you have done that, then drained the sink, try scrubbing gently at the remaining rust with a soap pad.
