How do you fix a deadlocked operating system?

I have two PCs sharing a program, and now neither can access it.

You may have to restore Both computers to be able to access the program. You must also have to reinstall the program on both Computers. Or you could just restore your computer back to an earlier time when the system was working correctly. You could also take your computer to a Professional.

Im not sure what you mean by deadlocked, but if it a file that you need access too put the hardrive into an external enclosure.

Restart the system. It is the universal answer to solving all problems with your operating system, at least the first time. Either try Cntl-Alt-Del or simply holding the power button down until the computer turns off.

In case of resource deadlock a first solution can be kill one of the two program process, leaving the resource (shared file I suppose) free for the other pc. If this isn't enought, stop all 2 programs and restart only one of them.
