The best way now a days in my opinion to find the information about anyone is to check the facebook profile. Checking the profile from the date of joining date one by one. I even use facebook to check my girlfriends view from the starting and also everymorning. Since she is not in my friend list so its easy.

You could just ask your daughter. Do online background checks on him. Follow them around in disguise when they go on dates. Break into his house and install web cams randomly throughout the house so you can watch him. Ask his neighbors and relatives for information. Google his name and see what comes up.
