Calorie content is determined by a food's makeup(carbohydrate, fat, protein, or alcohol). Fruit is made up of only carbohydrates. Each gram of carbohydrate has 4 calories per gram, and Each 'serving' of fruit is 15 grams of carbohydrate. A serving is about 60 calories (15g x 4 calories) and is tennis ball-sized. It has nothing to do with fructose content.
