How do you determine the axis of an object that is spherical?

Cylindrical?

To determine the axis of a spherical object, you would have to find a line that passes through the center of the sphere. There are infinitely many lines that could be a sphere's axis. For a cylinder, the axis would pass through the center of the bases, making there only one line that could be an axis.
