How do you determine if your dog is having an allergic reacation to Revolution mite medication?

My dog is still itching his ears a great deal and has been on Revolution for some time, I think that he is having an allergic reacation to the medication.

It does sound like your dog is allergic. Are the ears inflamed at all? Try talking to your vet about another topical medication. There are several anti-mite ointments that your dog can be switched over to, but most are perscription only unless you go to an equine supply store, but you still need to speak with your vet about dosing.

Not always. It could mean the medication isn't working because dogs itch when they have mites. Take your dog back to the Vet to determine the problem.

It sounds like your dog could be suffering from a bacterial yeast infection. Mites and a yeast infection look the same. Have your vet check for a yeast infection.

If your dog continues to have itching two things could be occurring. He could be allergic to the medication or the medication is not effective for your dog.
