You should talk with her counselors to learn things you can do to help her out when she has an episode. The best advice I can give you is to be there for her. Schizophrenia is very serious and if you do not work with her family and counselors then you could cause more problems than doing good.

From my point of view, the most crucial aspect of getting well when having a mental disorder is to find your mate. A boy or a girl friend helps you confront with your mental illness problems. She supports you and plays a row of someone that shares your deepest feelings through your coping.

Don't overestimate your own ability to handle a complex and potentially destructive relationship. Find somebody experienced to talk to. Preserve your own stability. You must look out for yourself.
