Yes, it is always best to be honest and get the truth out there before the spouse finds out from someone else. Also, talk to your preacher about this.

No, you should let bygones be bygones. Let sleeping dogs lie. This is especially the case if you are not involved. You don't want to make a scene over something that is already over with. You might end up getting blamed. If you are involved don't make the situation any stickier by confessing.

Find a way to effectively cope with your guilt and associated feelings but definitely avoid ever disclosing that you have had an affair if possible. You may think you're redeeming yourself or being honorable by finally coming clean, but with instances of infidelity the truth usually has very destructive results. Remain silent if you want your relationship to remain intact.
