A gigabyte is equal to exactly 1024 megabytes so to convert gigabytes to megabytes you simply multiply the number of gigabytes by 1024 to get the number of megabytes. Hard drive manufacturers are clever and define a gigabyte as 1000 megabytes so when you see say a 100gb harddrive it is truely a 100*1000 megabyte hard drive. devide 1024 truegigabytes.

The easiest way is to multiply the number of gigabytes by 1000. Technically, there are 1024 megabytes per gigabyte, but for most purposes, using 1000 is close enough.
