You have to digitize the whole film so it becomes the digital signature, later used on DVD or hard drive. You digitize film yourself or pay the profesional. Digitizing films is a really hard job (it means scanning and transfering and converting) so its suggested to pay the professional.

To convert film to dvd you will first need a video camera, a blank dvd-r and a computer running windows xp,vista or 7/ or a macintosh computer running 10.3.9 or higher. Connect your video camera to your pc or mac via usb cable, after that make sure your computer recognizes your video camera. Next, look into the video part of your camera files on your computer, then drag the file you want to your desktop. After it is done copying take the usb you used out, and put the blank dvd-r in. After that you will need to(for mac computers) change the extension of the file from whatever it is to .img, then after you've done that download burn for mac(can be found if you google "burn"), after you've done that open the applications and burn the file to the blank dvd-r and you're done or if you are a windows user download dvd flick(can be found if google searched) then open the application, after that go to settings and then keep all settings the same but don't change the 4.7 keep that the same. Then select burn and you're done. Hope I helped.
