How do you clean a faux fur coat?

I spilled wine all over my faux fur coat.

If you spilled red wine, try using soda water to lift the stain out. If it's just white wine, try simply sponging the area with a damp cloth until clean.

Did I ruin my faux fur coat by putting it in the dryer? It's all wrinkly looking now...like crushed velvet.  add a comment

I wouldn't put that in the wash because it might fall apart. I would take it to a dry cleaners and just pay to have it cleaned. They are usually better at dealing with clothes like that.

You could try soaking the dirty part with cold water. Warm or hot water will only encourage stains and cause them to be impossible to get out. Because stains come out best directly after the event of spilling something, you may need to take it to the dry cleaners.

I think the only way to safely do that is to take it to the dry cleaners. I think they would know best how to get it out. They are paid to do things like that.
