You can wash a down comporter in a sink or tub. To allow it to dry it should lay flat so the down doesn't get stuck in just one location and stays dispersed. You can also buy dry cleaning bags at your local supermarket also. These will allow you to wash your comforter in your own washer and dryer.

Use front-load washer (agitators may tear it). Dry on low. Remove often, fluff it & continue drying. Dry completely (possibly all day). Poor drying may cause flatness or even mold!

If you do not want to pay for dry cleaning and you would like to do it yourself you will need a little time. First of all run it through the washer twice and do not use too much soap. Then hand it outside to dry for a fresh feeling.

You can buy a dry cleaning kit at the local Walmart that would allow you do dry clean the comforter by yourself. If you choose not to dry clean than spot clean and air dry outside to get dust and allergies out of the comforter. You may read the tag for manufacture recommendations for cleaning.
