first thing you shall think about it is the general style. greek style is a beautiful way to decorate your room.. their fountains are rocky and tall but slim, and shapes are very geometric. then you think about the color. most people prefer white rocky design, with some silvery and grayish details...

Be sure it is a fountain that is easily accessible. They need to have water added all the time, especially in an area like a living room with heat.

Firstly, you should consider the size. They look a lot smaller in the store. So measure the designated area before you buy an indoor fountain. Another important thing is the sound of the pump. The noise can be quite irritating, so it is iportant to buy one you have heard working, filled with water.

Figure out where you want the fountain to sit, make sure the base of the fountain is deep enough so that the water won't splash out onto the floor.

Opt for a fountain that does not do a lot of splashing, but has a pleasant sound when running and place in the corner of room, next to a sofa or chairs. Choose a style that complements your room and a color that will highlight your decor.

Try to find a corner where the fountain will stand. Make sure its not too big at the base or too high. Find one with a small motor which makes little noise. Make sure it adds to the overall decor.

First measure the space that your fountain will go into, both for height and width. Some fountains must be plugged in, so make sure this space has access to a wall outlet. Search the internet or perhaps gift shops to locate a fountain that fits your space constraints and style.

Just choose one according to how it would look in your family room. So basically just pick a nice one or something that is also affordable as well in your room.
