With you and your family healthy, Research, evaluate, and choose physicians. Seek friends, family members, colleagues, neighbors and pharmacists referrals. Doctor should accept new patients. Check doctor's qualifications. Check with your health insurance provider if you are part of an HMO that only allows certain physicians' fees and services to be covered. Schedule an interview to meet the doctor.

Ask anyone you know in the area for recommendations. You can often go onto websites that will review the doctor and their service level.

To find a family physician right for you and your family, I would look into seeking a physician referal service and let them know what your needs are and they would be able to recommend the proper physician for your needs and area.

The best way to choose a family physician if you are new to town is by referral. I would ask several people for a recommendation. If you don't know very many people, try asking your Realtor or your new boss at work.
