There should be a plug that is removed from the trans. It should be labeled "Trans Check". It is removed and the flow of fluid is monitored. If it is slow the level is fine. If there is no drip add more. The car must be level to get an accurate measure.

On all auto transmissions there will be a dip stick to easily check your fluids. However, Standard transmissions are completely different. They require you to go underneath the vehicle, where the transmissions is, and on the side of the transmissions itself there are two bolts, one on top to fill and one below to drain.

There should be a transmission fluid dipstick on one side of the motor which will allow you to check the level.

You shouldn't have to check the transmission fluid in you car if it's a manual transmission. They are sealed units. Only automatic transmissions need to have proper fluid levels because the fluid is what helps the trans shift gears.

Almost checking transmission fluid is very easy as checking engine oil by checking dip stick under the hood but checking volkswagen is not easy because having sealed transmission. fuel level is checked by using plug underneath the car. Some essential points are:car engine need to be warmed up and running. Car should be in level so no use of jack is pssible.
