How do you change the workgroup name in XP?

If you could give me step-by-step, that would be great!

1. Open the start menu 2. Right click "My Computer" and choose "Properties" 3. Click the "Computer Name" tab, and click the "Change..." button. 4. Under "Workgroup", type the name of the workgroup you would like to join. 5. Click ok, then click ok again.

Right click the 'my computer' icon on your desktop and select properties. Go to the computername tab and click the change button there. Thats where you find the option to change the name of the workgroup your computer belongs to as well as domain options. Workgroup names are not case sensitive.

Well you can do that from the Control Panel. Do go there you have to click on the 'Start' button from the bl taskbar Control Panel and there search for User Ccounts. From there you will be able to change your workgroup name. The safest way to do it is that

How to change the workgroup name in XP: Right click "my computer". Click "properties". Next to computer name click "change". Enter work group information. Click "OK". Enter any necessary credentials. Reboot the PC.
