How do you change a car thermostat?

Locate where the thermostat is on the vehicle.It will be under a cover that must be un bolted before you are able to remove the old thermostat and gasket. Clean the area that holds the gasket until shiny and put a small amount of hi- temp silicon on the new seal and put it all back together. Check for Leaks

look at the radiator, follow the top hose to where it meet the engine, the thermostat is in there,first drain the radiator below the top hose, you will need to remove the bolts and seperate the neck from the block, remove the old thermostat and place the new one in the same way as the old (spring towards the block)

follow the top radiator hose to the engine block, in that neck where the hose and the block meet is the thermostat. Remove the bolts and pull up. once seperated the thermostat cn be replaced, make sure you place it back in the same direction it came out.

It's pretty simple take the 2 screws out of the old one and install the new one and you should be fine.
