Trumpet flowers, or "Angels Trumpets" are indiginous to South America. They require warm, sunny frost free conditions and fertile, well drained soil. Trumpet flowers from highland regions can tolerate some shade and cooler night time temperatures. Both highland and lowland varieties will benefit from an annual feeding with a nitrogen rich compost.

Keep the soil moist and fertilize every two to three weeks. Always keep the weeds away from the plant. If you have the vine you will need to make sure it has something to vine up.

They prefer full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Plant likes rich soil so mix a healthy dose of compost before planting. Plants like a lot of water and nutrients. Keep soil moist. Add general purpose fertilizer when planting and every two to three weeks during the season. Switch to high phosphorous formula just before the blooming period.

Trumpet flowers grow extremely quickly. You need to make sure the soil is rich, so mix in some compost just before you plant. They also prefer direct sunlight.
