Monkey grass, or liriope, is a very easy plant to care for. New plants need only to be cut very short near the end of winter to allow space for new growth. As the plant matures, it will need to be divided to provide space for expanding.

Monkey grass is prettiest when grown in shade or filtered sun, and prefers a good rich soil. It likes regular watering, but can be very drought resistant. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer once a month.

Monkey grass needs to be specially treated. I would make sure that the soil underneath the monkey grass is enriched and has plenty of vitamins. Furthermore, I would water the grass often and make sure that it gets plenty of water. The right amount of water should reach the grass.
