Water the soil very little every other day. Just enough water to dampen the top soil. It has a very delicate root system. It can be grown in a pot or a garden.

Always make sure you start them in a pot with low PH soil. Make sure you keep them close to the door so you can bring them in quickly when the temperature drops. As far as water it is better to give them to little than too much they will wilt on to little. They will die on too much.

Leptospermum, Australian Tea Tree requires full sun and moist soil. It prefers a slightly acidic soil, so choose an acidic fertilizer. It will not tolerate soggy roots, so choose an area of the garden with good drainage. Before planting, work in a good amount of organic soil amendment to increase drainage, because the first year requires good watering.

You need to plant it in a place the soil will stay warm all the time and you also need to make sure that when you water it you only give it enough to moisten the soil around it do no makt the soil wet like mud like you would for some plants.

Leptospermum can be planted outdoors where moist soil is present and should be exposed to sunlight for best results. Average water is required and over watering should be avoided.

Plant in full sun to partial shade in good organic soil. Use a good blooming fertilizer every two months. Plant same depth as container. Smaller container, more water.
