Calathea is an indoor plant. It requires moderate sunlight and direct sunlight should be avoided. The soil should be kept moist by watering regularly. It also requires high humidity for its proper growth so sometimes humidifiers may be used.

It is important to give your calathea plant some light but not too much.Too much light is bad.A really important thing to remember is that high humidity is essential for calathea plants. You can increase humidity around your calathea plant by placing it on a tray of pebbles. You should water the plant enough to keep the pot mix moist too.

Moderate, filtered light is best, with no direct sunlight. They prefer a humid environment of 60-70 degrees F. In cold or windy climates indoors or a greenhouse is best. Keep soil moist with no sitting water at the roots. Examine yearly to see if their roots are cramped and repot.

The calathea plants need to be kept out of direct sunlight. Filtered light is best or burning of the leaves will happen. Ideal temperature is sixty to seventy degrees. The warmer the temperature, the higher the humidity you will have to create. Do not let the plant sit in water. Well drained is better.

You basically have to fertilize the soil as much as you can and also just spray the water on the plants as much as you can every week you can.
