Water MUST be clean and deep enough for the turtle to submerge itself. Supply a platform so it can have a dry place to bask. They need sunlight, you'll need a full spectrum bulb. Feed small earthworms or buy frozen fish such as smelt and cut up into tiny pieces. (worms too) Using a filter the water will stay much cleaner.

The one important aspect of taking care of a slider turtle is their diet. Commercial turtle food or any other substitute such as dog food will not be suitable.

We must have strong beefy filters for turtles. 10% water change is must for week. Temperature of water should be 80-82 degrees. UVB light and heat light is must. Also basking area temperature should be greater than 10 degrees. Take your baby out sometimes and provide sun not overheating. Feed them 50% water plants, commercial foods 25% and live protein 25%

Make sure the water is not too deep and provide them somewhere like a log or platform that they can get completely out of water. Invest in a heat lamp.
