A minimum of one plug per square foot is recommended, 1 plug every 6 inches would fill in twice as fast. Then determine length x width in feet, if your yard is irregular in shape, try to draw it as a series of squares and add the figures together.

You will be need to measure the square footage of your yard. Depending on the kind, you will need anywhere from 160 to 200 plugs per 200 square feet.

First measure the square footage of your yard. You will need 160 to 200 plugs per 200 square feet of yard. Zoysia Farms Nurseried has an on line calculator you can use to help you out.

I would find out how much area in square feet one zoysia grass plug would cover. Then I would estimate approximately how many square feet of area i was going to cover to determine how many plugs i would need.
