Go to a gas station and fill your gas tank. Write down the miles on your mileage gauge. Then when you stop, write down the mileage again and subtract the beginning mileage from your ending mileage. Fill your gas tank again, noting the gallons purchased. Divide the mileage driven by the gallons purchased and you have your miles per gallon.
