The major problem with buying at auctions is getting caught up in the bidding and going just one more higher. The best strategy is to view things beforehand, write down your top amount and then don't go over it during the auction. Good Luck.
I personally would not start the bid, I would wait until 3 bids have been placed. Don't bid more then the item is worth. See what the valid ingrements are and only go up those increments. Ask yourself, do you really want it?
