Candidates must be at least 21 years old. Candidates under 21 are considered if they have a four-year college degree. All candidates must complete the the application process, pass the written exam and background check, and demonstrate excellent physical and mental condition. Upon acceptance to the training academy, proof of citizenship, Mississippi residency and driver license must be presented.

The best thing you can do is call their office up and ask them what their qualifications are. Many police forces will put you into some kind of academy and train you but for the best opportunity a bachelors degree in criminal justice will boost your career. A college degree will help you rank up quicker.

You can probably apply at the Miississippi's state police office or through their website, whose web address you can find by typing it on Google. You'll need a high school diploma and have to pass a physical, psychological and written test.
