Well depending on what type of computer you are building the process varies. Look online for detailed guides. First you install a motherboard in a case. Then usually install the power supply followed by the cpu and fan. Then the cards can be installed along with any drives. Then the case can be closed and the system can be setup.

The easiest way is to order the parts online, then get a book describing how to do it in detail, so that you don't mess up. It is like puzzle really, put the CPU in the motherboard, put the fan on that, put in the RAM, screw the motherboard into the case, add peripherals, and plug in the power supply.

Start by putting the tower and monitor where you want them, run the coords to the appropriate device and then Bind them together, then plug them in.

Make sure you have all the components in handy. Place the motherboard in the case, then start placing each component following the attached instructions.
