How do you adjust the settings on warm morning heaters?

Doesn't your warm morning heater have a knob on the side to adjust your settings? My brand is a Honeywell and has the side mount. Shouldn't be awfully difficult to figure out which settings unless you are talking about adjusting the flame on a gas heater or something.

On my warm morning heater the control sensor is a capiliary bulb attached to the control. I found out I can't do anything except move it a little closer to the heat source. I learned the hard way trying to adjust the valve's range can mess it up.
