Question by  francoaraujo (18)

How do Kirkland Signature products compare to brand name products?

As a Costco member I am tempted to switch to the Kirkland brand products but need to learn more about them.

I have found Kirkland Signature products to be great. They are less expensive than other labels, but they are worth every penny that you spend on them. I have had a lot of these products and I will continue to buy them.

We use the Kirkland Signature products at our office and I can honestly say that our employees didn't even notice the switch from name brand. We go through a box of coffee within a week or week and a half if we're lucky. Obviously, these people are hooked. No one even said a word when we switched to Kirkland Signature.

The Kirkland Signature products are virtually the same as the name brand products except they cost a lot less. They are generally highly rated by users and the brand has received high marks from Consumer Reports magazine.

Kirkland Signature has a great reputation, and their items are typically of very high quality. And, with Costco's return policy, even if you open something you can return it!

For goods like paper plates, napkins and paper towels, they are just as good. Their diapers are comparable to cheap varieties, but their overnight diapers are poor in quality. The quality of their canned foods ranges from fair to good.

Typically Kirkland's items are even better than similar middle-cost items. I use a lot of Kirkland items and haven't been disappointed yet. Of course, food items are always personal preference.

They don't make anything themselves. They are all name brand items. For example, the vodka is Grey Goose, and the detergent is Tide.
