Approach the bee hive at around dawn so the bees would be inactive. Examine the hive and spray all the holes present in the hive so the bees can't escape.

Best to do this when the temperature is cooler, the bees will be less active (early morning or late evening). Wear something to protect you from stings! Spray the dust into the hive entrance (several times). Plug the hole after - bunched paper works. Then apply dust to the outside of the nest, to get any returning bees.

Sevin dust is best applied early morning as there is not much activity yet. It should be sprayed to cover the beehive including all of the openings. As for the person to handle the spraying, proper clothing should be used including a respirator as sevin dust is a poison.

Sevin dust kills insects so be specific in areas you want treated. Cool, early mornings and late evenings bees are less active, allowing you better access. Dust areas thoroughly.
