How do I tuneup my PT Cruiser?

Answer by  6ixk (1156)

Simple tune ups are done by replacing the air filter, changing the oil, and setting the timing correctly. You can get this done at any mechanic for a standard rate. They usually offer a deal.

For a tune-up you usually replace the following parts: air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor, distributor cap, and spark plug wires. I would also check the brakes and replace them as needed. All that is usually needed for that are the brake pads and rotors or you can have your existing rotors turned.

To tune up your PT Cruiser you want to be with new oil and a fresh filter. Next change all spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. This will not only improve performance but gas mileage as well. Be sure to replace all air and fuel filters.

Firstoff you will need to get new oil and fresh filter. Change both all wires and spark plugs, you will also need a cap and rotor. Make sure a new PCV valve is installed. All fuel filters must be replaced. Do all this and you will have a better running car on gas mileage and performance.

Look online for a guide specific to your car. Typically it involves checking your spark plugs and their gaps along with a few other things like ignition timing.
