How do I troubleshoot heater problems in a Ford Taurus?

the best thing to do is to make sure your heater core is still good. If it is not your car is going to get warm for you inside.

You should start by making sure the buttons on the heater have not fallen off. Then check to see if any sort of heat is coming out of the vents. If one works, the others might be blocked.
