Lay your pig down and start a tummy rub for relaxation. Use stainless and sharp cut mini pliers, trimming pig's hooves until getting to smooth nail. Cut back both sides and blunt it. Use a metal nail file to smooth edges. Give dewclaws a dull cut. Finish with hoof oil.

If your pig is young, you can use a file. If older you need stainless steel spring loaded side cutters, referred to as diagonal cut mini pliers. You need to accustom your pig to having it's hooves handled with petting, foot handling and treats. Only lift one foot at a time. If your pig is older, call a farrier.

Handle your pig's feet often and use a dremmel -- and get the pig used to the dremmel sounds/vibrations before you touch the pig's feet. Handle your pig's feet while it is eating, and use the powered nail file to trim back the part that extends beyond the fleshy pig toe. Start when still a piglet.

Take the pig to the vet to do this. They are very careful about trimming them as they wade in feces much of the day.
