Toe nail avulsions have to be surgically removed, it is a minor procedure done under local anesthesia and takes about 15-20 minutes. It is also advisable to cauterize the area after the procedure to prevent recurrences.

This is a treatment for ingrown nails, not a condition. If you have painfully ingrown nails you may need an avulsion, you will receive antibiotics and proper bandaging instruction after.

Toenail avulsions is growth of nail inside the skin. usually nail should grow outside the skin normally. when an infection appears proper medical aid can be taken by the patient in order to prevent the dangerous situation. usually this happens only in the legs not on the hand fingers, so take care when the problem occurs.

If you can keep the nail in place or trim it if neccessary. Let the area air out and dry on its own. Continue to keep the toe clean with warm soap and water. Don't over wrap the toe, because the moist can delay healing and cause infection. Keeping it clean and dry are the best options.
