After a horsefly bite, immediately clean the wound with soap and water. Then dry the area with clean towel. Apply topical hydrocortisone or benadryl cream on the area of bite.

Clean quickly with warm , soapy water and then apply benadryl or calamine lotion to the bite. Vinegar or an ice pack or ice cubes can help with pain and swelling. Apply loose bandaging to prevent further infection.

You should immediately clean the area with soap and water, and pat dry. Then you should rub in a hyrdrocortisone cream. You might consider taking an antihistamine (like Benadryl). Also, I suggest putting an ice cube or cold pack over the bite to reduce swelling.

It is very important to clean the area well. Horse fly bites can be very infectious. After cleaning the area, apply hydrocortisone cream to the bite to reduce swelling and itching. Cover the bite with a gauze bandage, not too tight. Watch for allergic reactions to the bite, such as problems breathing or rash.

Horse fly bites are infectious so clean them as soon as possible with soap and water. Put anti-itch cream on the area and cover with gauze.

To immediately take the itching and stinging away, you can either use distilled white vinegar or an over-the-counter cortisol spray like Cortaid. You can also use yellow mustard, believe it or not. Just remember if the bite becomes inflamed or infected-looking, you should consult your doctor or go to the emergency room.
