Make sure to keep it clean and that it doesn't get infected. Your dog should probably go on antibiotics anyway to prevent an infection.

To treat a puncture wound, you first want to clean the area. It is best to remove any debris from the wound and soak the spot in iodine or a cleaning solution. You may wish to apply a light bandage and some ointment.

depends on the wound specifically whether it may be best open or closed. they are usually cleaned properly and often antibiotics may be prescribed to prevent infection or them going septic and having to put in drains and everything. you should see vet to try and avoid what might be a minor problem becoming a big one.

Trim any fur surrounding the area and quickly rinse it with antibacterial soap. Apply a small amount of peroxide and bandage with gauze. A vet is always a good choice.

Don't. Take it to a vet. Don't mess with your dog's health.
