Make sure the plug wire is removed from plug. On a push mower place it on something where you can get under it . Find a plug- it may be covered with grass and dirt -clean it and turn it to counter clock wise. Drain Oil. Replace fill with oil.

The oil plug normally has a square head on it. It will be on the side of the engine near the bottom. Locate the plug and use the correct size open end wrench or adjustable wrench to unscrew the plug. If the plug is damaged, buy a new plug and use locking pliers to remove the old one.

Usually the oil plug on the underside of the mower is a 3/8 inch plug. A 3/8 socket set with extension will fit into the plug. Clean the plug first.

Remove by carefully unscrewing the oil cap and gently removing the plug from its housing, taking care not to pull too hard on the plug as this may lead to oil splashes on clothes or skin..
