First, raise your hand above your head, to alleviate any swelling. If your ring still does not come off, try soap, petroleum jelly or butter.

Place a sink stopper over the drain and lather hands generously with soap and water; the ring should slip off easily. Also, you can lubricate the ring finger with baby oil.

The best way I have found to take a ing off that has become tight is with soap and water. Also try hand lotion.

I've always found the soap and water method to work well with removing rings. If it's really stuck you can always try a little bit of good hand lotion to help slide it off.
