This is a fairly difficult "repair" job, if you consider yourself a novice i would insist that you contact an automotive expert. The EGR Valve is located under your cab. You'll need either fitting sockets or a crescent wrench, as well as a matching EGR valve.

First of all, we release all the bolts and nuts from Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, pull the vacuum hose. By using a socket wrench, remove the EGR valve from the top of the motor to unfasten the bolts. Position the new EGR valve on the motor of Ford Windstar and fasten it. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum port.

Just pull the vacuum hose off and unscrew the exhaust line. Unbolt old valve. Connect the vacuum hose and exhaust line to the new sensor and bolt new one on.

Unhook any connectors going to the valve and then remove the bolts holding the valve on. Then remove the valve and install the new one.

The EGR valve is located next to the throttle body where the exhaust is recirculated back into the throttle body. Remove and replace.

Contact a auto dealership or professional mechanic if you're a beginner. Pull vacuum hose off then unscrew the exhaust line. unscrew old valve and remove. Both connect vacuum hose and exhaust line to new sensor and screw new valve on.
