It really depends on what type of material it is. Generally, vanity tops have a seal underneath that adheres it to the counter. Cut that seal. Then t will be screwed to the base, usually in the corners. Unscrew it and take it off the counter.

Both You Tube and Home Depot have step by step instructions to help- my vote goes to Home Depot. This will depend if you are replacing just a formica finish, or an entire countertop- if the whole thing you have great leeway for creativity.

In order to replace a vanity top, you must first remove the existing vanity top. Once you get it removed, you must find a vanity top that is in the same size or in a close size that will fit in the existing location. You will connect the vanity with the required tools and materials.

Open the doors of the cabinet and see if the top is attached by screws to the vanity. If so unscrew the top. With some muscle the top should bop up. Take off vanity. Measure the old top and purchase a new some the same size, glue down and screw.

Don't do it yourself but let a handyman do it for you. It may cost a little but you will know it will be done right.
