Disconnect the battery. Verify sensors are not corroded. Remove the cable from the transmission. Remove the grommet from the engine area. Take care not to loose any parts or damage any external components. Install new and test.

You need to locate the VSS, Vehicle Speed Sensor. The cable will be hooked to this sensor, usually on the transmission. Unhook the cable from here. Then the other end will be hooked up to your odometer, unhook it from there. Then you can hook up a new cable to the sensor and your odometer.

This is a tricky question. Start by checking the obvious and perhaps even consult your dealership or local automotive shop/expert You're going to need a saudering gun and a good pair of wire cutters. Crawl underneath the cap and locate the cable, It should be long and flat and black. Clip the cable and sauder in the new one.
