How do I replace a freeze plug on a Jeep Cherokee?

Remove the old plug and clean opening in the block. Apply sealant to the new plug and with a socket and extension pound it in using a hammer.

First obtain a new frezze plug from a local auto parts dealer, use only a new one a used one may already be damaged or crossthreaded, and you'll have to do the work all over again. Which Sucks. Now Remove the old frezze plug using a cresent wrench, once you have

Typically freeze plugs are punched out when the engine is being rebuilt. However you can remove then while the engine is in the car. You will need to punch a hole in the plug and pry it out. Then just hammer in the new plug.

first of all you have to knock out the old one useing a punch. then tap in a new one useing something that fits just inside the new one.
