Adjust the slack on the cable, it should be a brass colored piece, move it down a tad bit and clamp it back on. Your good to go.

There is no way to repair the throttle body positioning sensor. It has to be replaced if you find out that it is bad. Simply remove and replace.

Remove the air cleaner first. Using the 1/4 inch drive remove the throttle position sensor. New throttle position should be installed. Screw the new bolts and tighten them.

Some throttle body sensors can be cleaned/repaired with carb or brake cleaners if they are "sticky". Most repairs require a new throttle body sensor replacement since they are sealed from the factory and cannot be repaired.

In general a repair like this isn't easy for someone considers themselves a "novice". If you consider yourself this, you should consult your user manual or call your local mechanic.

Disconnect the cable. Separate the air inlet. Take the throttle linkage shield. Pull the accelerator&speed cables. Take the throttle body. Separate the gasket. Set a new gasket with the throttle body. Position the mounting nuts. Connect the TPS and IAC valve wiring connectors. Reconnect the speed control&the accelerator cables. Replace the throttle linkage shield. Replace the air inlet tube. Tighten the clamps.
